FC 21 PS5 and Xbox Series X|S update goes live a day early

FC 21’s next-gen update for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is live now, a day earlier than expected.

The update is free for players who purchased the Xbox One or PS4 version of the game, improving the graphics and load times for the more capable next-gen machines. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game don’t go on sale until December 4, which is when the update was expected.

The next-gen verison of FC 21 will improve hair textures and muscle definition for in-game characters, while the ball will compress when kicked to show its weight. The game will now also have the ability to run in 4K, alongside has deferred rendering and runtime lighting to make textures more realistic.

 
EA has already confirmed that only some progress will carry over across from current- to next-gen. All of your players in Ultimate Team and Volta will be waiting for you in next-gen, but nothing else. Career Mode, Online Seasons, and Pro Clubs will all be reset to cheap EAFC 24 Coins their default state on next-gen.
