United Pet Policy

Pets in Cabin :

United Airlines allows small pets (dogs, rabbits, and cats) to travel in the cabin. However, they must be kept inside their carrier under the seat before them. One adult cat or dog is allowed by the airline in each carrier.

The pet should always stay inside their carrier under the seat with the door closed. If you are travelling with pets in the cabin, note that only cats and dogs are allowed if space is available.

The kittens and Puppies should be at least two months old on the day of travelling on Domestic flights and four months old on the day of travelling on international flights. The Pet fee charged by United Airlines is $125 each way.

Pets in checked baggage

United Airlines does not allow dogs to travel as checked baggage.

Carrier Guidelines

If you are travelling with pets in the cabin, the pet's carrier should be hard or soft-sided. The size of the hard carrier can be a maximum of 17.5 in x 12 in x 7.5 in or 44 cm x 30 cm x 19 cm. The size of the soft-sided careers should be a maximum of 18 in x 11 in x 11 in or 46 cm x 28 cm x 28 cm. Your pet should be able to turn around and stand in the carrier.
